hi, I'm in Glasgow and unfortunately I'm still hearing about it! They had to shut 8 wards in 2 hospitals in Aberdeen last week because of it...but I'm hoping we're getting to the end of the tunnel of winter!!

i dont think you can ever avoid SV, there will always be bugs everywhere! i think it depends on if you go to places where you are likely to cach bugs, epecially at places like schools, where alot of people gather together

i am a teacher in a secondary school, for the last month or so i have only had one or two kids missing from each class, i don't think they have been off with bugs. there have been one or two but they seem to have been fairly self contained.

Where i live i havnt heard of anything of yet of people with it, i know
that it was ggoing round in hospital when i was there though about 2
months ago, the lady next door had the winter sickness bug, but they
used antiemetics to stop her being sick as it was hurting her so much
because she was old and had an open wound i think (awww poor
lady) but she said it was hurting so they injected her and she was ok
after and didnt vomit again.., but i don't think you can stop yourself
getting one, theres probaly ways like antiemetics to stop v*, but you
have to get it out the other way i guess if not (sorry to be so graphic)
but as long as you keep clean, wash hands, washing hands before
eating and cooking food, keeping your immune system up by eating
that should help the risk of picking them up.
TEA!! IS AMAZING!!
indeed it is! :]

Hi Guys,

Roofus tou are so right!!

fendergirl2020 - i'm in glasgow too!!

I work in ayr and a lot of people were off work with it about a week ago, it seems to have calmed down now though and i defiantely think the kids being of school will help contain anyone who still has it.

lol Thank you . Can you get sv by just going near someone with
one do you think?, i mean so far when i've had a sv when i was
younger nobody in my family have gotten it, even when my mum
used to look after me and still kiss me goodnight and stuff, she
always makes sure the house is clean and if anyone is ever ill in my
house the bathroom gets totally disinfected, and knowbody seems to
get them. The last three times my mum had been ill and V* the first
time she had food poisoning, the second she either had it again or a
sv, and the third she had a really bad chest infection, and knowbody
else got them from her, though me, my dad and my brother all went
near her when she had it? also my brother had this really bad gastric
type flu thing once and he was so ill, he kept having dry heeves, d*
when it first came on, then he just had like normal flu with dry
heeves for about 2 weeks at christmas time a few years ago, and as
my mum had to work some of the time i had to help him by getting
him drinks and cooked him things like chicken and soup, and i even
once slept downstairs with him as he felt so ill he couldnt sleep so we
spent the night watching films, and i didnt get it or anyone else,
because i made sure my hands where clean and he made sure if he
coughed or sneezed he would put his hand over his nose and mouth
and wash his hands, maybe it just depends on what you touch mainly
and keeping your hands clean and the house clean if someone ever
has one.

i think half of these bugs are spread throughh air conditioning units, the bugs get caught up in the mechanism! i suppose they would be alright if they were cleaned out regulay. where i use to work (at the local newspaper) everyone on the floor with ac was always really ill, and i was on reception, so there was no ac, becuase of the door being open all the time, so i always avoided the bugs. i dreaded going downstairs to give messages to people!!!
