Today during school, we had to go to a presentation by Mothers against drunk driving. The dark room and the rather emotional/jarring film we were made to watch gave me a bit of a panic attack, which of course set my stomach churning. I started getting stabbing pains and that horrible feeling that you need to burp, but can't. But instead of freaking out and making it worse, I took deep breaths, sat in a more comfortable position, and forced myself to think of other things. And I got through it fine! I didn't feel sick for the rest of the day! (When normally this kind of thing happens four or five times daily).

    Yay!

YAY!! That's a big step. Hopefully you will be able to control this feeling more often.

Good for you! I hope you can keep it up the next time you see something that causes a panic attack!
