had issues with your gall bladder? I am trying to figure this all out and
I'm a little scared! I had posted last week that I had d* and was trying to
figure out if it was nerves or the sv*. I still don't know exactly what it
was, but did end up at the dr. on Monday. She ordered an ultrasound
because I have had some pain in my right rib cage for a few weeks. She
has told me to stick to a really bland diet and that she wanted to see me
when the results came back. On Thursday, her assistant called and said
that they had found a shadow on my ultrasound. That was all the info.
that she could give me. Needless to say, I had a rough night on
Thursday, thinking the worst. On Friday, I went to see her and she said
that they had found a "nodule" on my liver and that my bile ducts were
enlarged. She has ordered further tests, an MRI for my liver and a HIDA
scan of my bile ducts. She said that my gall bladder seemed to be fine,
but wanted to get an overall idea of what was going on. I have stuck to
the bland diet, but ventured out a tad today, and now I have d*. Do you
think that it could be from all of that, or do I have a sv*? Could this all be
related to the bile ducts, etc.?

Nerves are probably making it worse. So I doubt that even though you ventured off of the bland diet just a tad you are going to have any serious issues other than worrying and making your body respond in an overwhelming way to something that is minor. If there was an immenent threat you would have severe, and I mean like you wish you would just die, kind of pain. I know because I ahve had some probs internally in the past. I think you will be fine. Drink plenty of water and maybe green tea to help de-toxify your system. Do listen to your Dr. though and try to stick with some gentler foods untill you get more info from him/her. Hope this helps out!

I had pain on the right side (rib cage area) along with pain in the upper part of my stomach that went right to my back. At times the pain was intense that it was hard to breathe. I was sent to a specialist and got the gall bladder out! Gall bladder was fine, I had a duodenal ulcer and some where in my gut it was closing up so they used a tube to open it. Fine ever since. The ulcer is there and at times it hurts but I keep taking my meds for it.
People with gall bladder problems may have different symptoms. I never had diarrhea with mine at all.
Keep us up to date with what is happening with your tests. Stay on the bland diet until your doctor says you can start on a normal diet.

Julie...i had my gallbladder out back in 91....i had severe pain in my stomach that radiated to my back..i had 13 gall stones in all and half of them were stuck in my bile duct blocking the pile from coming out...so if you have an overflow of bile into your stomach..yes, you can very well get diareaha from that....i get it all the time, especially now that i don't have a gall bladder to process the bile. I don't know what your pain is from, but if you are having pain like that, then it probably is best to stick to a bland diet for now, until your doc figures out what's wrong....i hope you get better soon....let us know what you find out.

Thanks for the information, everyone. I am really taking it easy, for fear
of having a full blown attack, if that is the case. I am dropping weight
fast, which I really can't afford to do. But, I don't want to be in pain. So,
I'll just wait it out a little longer until I can get these tests behind me.
