I haven't been on the board very long, but many of you helped me through the last few months of my pregnancy with my emet and my anxiety. Thank you all so much.

Blake Allen was born on 5/2/06 at 8:09am. He weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces and 19 1/2 inches. We are home and doing well. I will post pics when I have some time. Thank you all again for your support!

Thanks everyone for your congrats. We are doing well - just tired as expected. He does have a little bit of jaundice though and we had to get a biliblanket to try to get rid of it. He went for a blood test today and another one is scheduled on Monday to check to see if it is going away. I hope it's nothing serious - they say it's very common but of course I am worried. Has anyone had any experience with jaundice at all? If so I'd like to hear.

Below is a link to view pictures of Blake and my family. I hope you can see them, if not let me know and I'll re-post. Thank you all for your kind words!

Glad you guys are doing well. My youngest was a bit jaudice, but not enough that she needed treatment, we just had to get her blood checked a few times to make sure it was getting better. I think we had to have her checked to because she and I were released from the hospital a little early. (At my request because it was Christmas Eve and I wanted to be home with my family.) So, I dont have too much experience with jaudice.

I couldnt get the link to work.

Congratulations!!! I have a friend who had 4 kids who all needed billylights/blankets. It's kind of a pain, that's all!! As far as I know, none of my kids were jaundiced, so I don't have any personal experience with it!

My brother had Jaundice too when he was born, I think it is pretty common and nothing to worry about!

Also couldn't click the link or see the page when I pasted it in my browser??

Congratulations! I tried the pics, too, but had no luck!

Both of my children were jaundice. I put them both in front of sunny
windows (the vitamin D is apparently good at helping their bodies to flush
it out) and I was encouraged to nurse them very often. The more fluid
(breast milk or formula) they had, the quicker it would flush out. I was
always told that day 5 is when they hit their peak level, then taper off
from there. You might still see yellowish tints to the whites of his eyes,
since that is the last place it disappears from. Often times, if you are
breast feeding, they have you supplement for a while with formula until it
is lowered, but we didn't get to that point. I just nursed them a lot and
often.

Both kids are perfectly fine now! It is a very common occurence with
newborns.

Enjoy EVERY minute with that little guy! Mine turned 8 yesterday and I
remember those "younger days" like they were yesterday!

Alissa, our sons share the same birthday!!! Congrats! Christopher to had to use a biliblanket for his jaundice. He was basically wrapped up in that thing for about 3-4 days. We called him out little 'lightening bug.' I wouldn't worry too much about the jaundice. Chrostopher's bilirubin levels were pretty high. He was fine in about a week.
