Maybe this could be a game. I have been thinking lately of emet related things that I logically know, but somehow when my emetophobia takes over, these logical thoughts get lost and I freak... Then maybe when we are feeling irrational, we can come read the posts on this game and put things into perspective.

    For instance....

I know not to panic everytime I hear it's going around because it's always going around.

I know that keeping my immune system strong and treating my body with respect is one perfectly engineered way to stay healthy even when the rest of the world seems to have some kind of sickness.

I know that I cannot completely control whether or not I get sick, but I can take measures to make it less likely.

I know that if I feel so nausiated that I want to die, it's better just to let my body vomit and get it over with, than prolonging the anxiety.

I know that each time I am challenged by emet and get through it, I am that much closer to beating this phobia.

    Anyone else?

Great idea! Shiva...you are really using your frontal cortex!

I know that worrying about it isn't going to change the outcome. It is just going to waste energy and precious time.

I know that this phobia does not define the individual that I am.

I know that this phobia is not bigger than me. Although it often
feels that way, I can crush it with the rational strength that I do
    have.

I know that whatever happens, WILL PASS...nothing is forever.

I know that I am not alone and I have lots of wonderful people who are
around me to help me. I do not have to do anything alone.

I have many strategies to use to work through a challenging time.
I need to rely on those resources rather than return to my old habits
    of panic.

    JULIE! Those are great ones!

I know that I will be okay.

I know that I can handle anything that comes my way.

I know that if I breathe and relax- I will feel better.
