Is anyone taking Prozac? If so, what's your dose? I take
20mg right now but my doctor is bumping me to 40. I requested it
because I feel like it's working for me but just not as much as it
should. Does this seem like a big dose?

Hello!!

I was on 60mg/day a couple of years ago.I started at 20mg, then up to 40mg, then to 60mg. Prozac worked great for me! I lost my health coverage while on it, so I had to wean myself off of it, but now that I have insurance again, I am seriously considering going back on it.

Do you have OCD? I do, and the Prozac basically "cured" me of it!!

Yes, I obsess a lot. LIke, did I REALLY hear the can suck in air
when I opened it with the can opener? Did I REALLY hear the lid
pop when I opened the jar of Ragu? Did I REALLY get all the soap
out of the pan before I cooked in it? Was there something in my
bowl that I didn't see even though I wiped it out over and over?
Was the meat I brought home from the store REALLY still cold when I put
it in the fridge? Is my fridge REALLY getting cold enough.
The list is endless...

I know EXACTLY how that is, and the high dosage of Prozac I was on completely diminished my OCD tendencies. I actually got to feel "free", like a huge burden was lifted off my shoulders!!!! tHE MORE i TALK ABOUT IT, THE MORE i WANNA GO BACK ON IT. (oops, all caps).

I woke up in the morning happy, ready to face my day, without the self-inflicting responsibility of OCD. It was wonderful.

I'm not sure what my day would be like WITHOUT obsessing to be honest. I think that's what I do all day long.

Susanand brandy: I totally obsess about ALL of those things you listed. It's such a pain! I am taking zoloft, for the third time. I found in the past, it took some of the obsessiveness away, but not all. I was never on the maximum dose, tho, so who knows.

Prozac seems to cure many things, that they are still studying. I think it is better than Zoloft, from what I hear. I am on a constant 20 mg per day, and will never go off...I don't have rx insurance right now, but I pay my own! I have slight phobias, ocd, social, eating, and it's all much much better now.

I've been on it for just over a week and i've had no side effects at all. It affects everyone differently but honestly it won't make you s* and the n* is any will probably not be that bad for most people.
