Ok, last night I had a ready meal of chicken tikka masala.
I cooked it thoroughly - gave it a bit extra time. Ate it about
7pm. Thing is, I swear I bit into a bit of chicken that was
tinged pink. It wasn't fleshy or pink inside, it was just pinky
all over. I spat it out and didn't eat any other pink bits, but I
did eat a couple of the more whiter chicken bits. There wasn't
anything else to eat and I was starving.

I then obsessed (like you do) about whether or not I'd got fp. I
was fine all night - no n* or d*, but I've woken up (now 10.40am) with
that horrid bubbly crampy feeling in my gut. It comes and goes,
and I have a lot of wind. I'm sure I heard that fp doesn't come
on instantly and can affect you the morning after the meal. I'm
now so scared I've given myself food poisoning. I've even
    cancelled my class this morning.

I am *terrified* this is fp - I can't stop shaking.

Hey, awww im sorry your feeling like this. Try to stay calm. To me i don't think you have fp. I think maybe your stomach may feel like that because your worrying. Also i think that the chicken in ready meals are already cooked, and all your doing is heating it up. My mum eats the chicken ready meals or the time, so does my dad and my dad sometimes cooks it under and he eats it and is fine. Try to relax and take some deep breathes. Also do you have any sprite?? that can help the crampy stomach. Feel beeter

Hi Raindrop, I agree with Ruth, I think the anxiety is making you feel this way. Its common for chicken to look pink as the meat could come from the leg or wing, which is often a darker or more pink colour than the rest of the meat even when it has been well cooked. You heated the up the meal well and even gave it some more time.

Its hard not to worry about these things, but I am sure you will be okay, just take it easy and don't be too hard on yourself. M x

Thank you guys so much - it really does help and hearing what you're saying makes me feel a bit more rational about it all.

Think I'm feeling a bit better than I was. Just hope it lasts!

I think also because the chicken is effectively marinated in some very colourful indian spices, the chicken can become dyed - this often gives it a pinkish tinge! Try dropping a forkful of curry down a white t-shirt - damn that turmeric stains!

If you cooked it like any emet would then you have absolutely nothing to worry about. I've had fp too a couple of time, and it's explosive! You'd know if you had it, really!

Okay, I ate it the day before yesterday - do you think if I had fp it would have shown itself by now?

I've never had fp, so I don't really have a clue.

    Raindrop -

Yes - I think you would know by now. The time I had fp - the symptoms started 6 hours after I ate. They can last for a couple of days, but they would have started by now. You'll be fine.

    Take care...
