Okay as some of you know I had Rectal bleeding last week and had to go to the ER and they told me to schedule a colonoscopy. Well ever since then I've been having D*...not really bad but bad enough that I had to miss my sister's graduation. Now (And sorry to be gross) my stool color is REALLY dark...it's not BLACK (I know to watch for that cause that means bleeding) But they are REALLY dark...is that normal? Should I be worried?

Try not to worry too much, there are many things that can cause this, including as alwaysamber said peto bismol, but also things like iron supplements, beetsand liquorice. Check with your doctor to put your mind at rest, I'm sure everything will be ok.

Okay thanks, I don't take pepto bismal but I have changed my diet recently so that might be it. I'm going in for a colonoscopy soon so I'll check with my doctor when I go in...if I remember LoL!

    Monica,

The colonoscopy will totally clear that up - the wondering, I mean. They'll take a look in there and see what's what. So you're getting the very best in diagnostic and medical care. If they're some silly pollup or something that's causing the bleeding, then they'll see it and treat it. You're in good hands, so try to relax!

I know...thank you Sage. I'm just really nervous about everything, my stomach has been SO BAD for the past few days and I don't know what's going on I've been living off of Ginger Ale and crackers. It totally sucks.

It's anxiety, sweetheart. Same reason I crap twice every time I'm about to speak in public (and I'm not really nervous! But obviously enough for me to get a bit upset or it wouldn't happen.)

YOu might not be able to do anything about this. So stick to the gingerale, etc...whatever makes you feel more calm. If you can get a prescription for any sort of tranquilizer until the procedure's over that would be good too.

    Good luck!
