A little scared...need some reassuarence!

Hi, all! I hope you all have been doing better. I haven't been check this board as much because I have been so busy. Anyway, ANOTHER plus for me, I actually sat through a cleaning at the dentist on Friday. It seemed like it took forever but I made it through....a couple times I felt like gagging but I didn't...I havent been to the dentist in like 4 years since my dental insurance ran out!!! Anyway, I was ok after I left and have been fine until today. I was drinking some diet coke when I noticed that my throat kinda hurt as I was swallowing, and the very back of my tougne hurts a little and my neck is starting to hurt so I hope I am not getting a sore throat....but my jaw also is a little sore...it wasn't at all on Friday or yesterday but it is today....is it possible for it to be from someone digging around in my mouth 2 days ago??


So I left my house and came to mom and dad's and i was sitting on the couch and got up to go to the bathroom. Had a small BM and went back to watching football....for like 10 seconds! Then I went back to the bathroom and sat there for what seemed like FOREVER then finally has a loose BM. I feel worse now that I went...I feel N* and cold and tired. I had my flu shot 2 weeks ago so I am not worried about the flu but I am wondering about if I am getting a sore throat, or if I am getting a sv* or neither or both!!! My mom and dad are leaving in an hour to go to dinner and I don't want to go with or go home and I don't want them to leave!


I just need some reassurence or thoughts! Thanks ya'll! You're the best!

It's neither. I had a root canal done and a few days later got a sore throat that lasted for days! I went to the doctor and he looked etc and I told him I'd gone to the dentist and he said yep that was it, next day or so it was fine. The bm could just be cleaning out or nerves or something you ate just went thru you. IBS. Many many possibilities other than illness.

Yeah, I think you are fine...I get sore throats often and it's just because...Sometimes when I sleep with the ceiling fan on or just weather changes...Try to relax and enjoy your night. I agree with SimplyMe, the dentist can also cause sore throats...Think about it, you are laying there with your mouth open for awhile and your throat gets dry, naturally a sore throat follows.

I apologize...I didn't even congratulate you on your triumph! YAY for you...sitting through the Dentist sucks and you did it. Be proud of yourself!

I'm with Kasey and SimplyMe on this one. It sounds like nothing to worry about. Maybe you could eat/drink something warm or use Chloraseptic spray just to east the throat discomfort.
