Just wondering, at night, when I start to feel tired and I know its time to sleep, I start to have panic attack, this has been going on for a while now, hence me staying up so late these day, its really getting to me now, and I find it so so hard to fall asleep..

Does anyone else suffer from this?

    yes.

i always have a hard time falling asleep.

and i think panic attacks are more prone at night because no ones really up and you cant really go outside and breathe fresh air so you dont necassarily have the reassurance you need to help overcome the panic attacks.

if night really bothers you, treat it like daytime. i turn on all my lights, watch tv , take a bath and mostly CLEAN.. gets my mind off of things AND does the house good =)

but eventually, your gonna need to sleep and then i suggest taking a mild sleeping agent. my best bet? the target brand sleeping pills. these lil blue gel capsules do wonders and only the target brand...for some reason they work the best for me. or bubble baths. haha

    hope you get some sleep.

if not, ill be up awhile myself =)

Yes, I occasionally get panic attacks when I'm trying to go to sleep---ugh!! I absolutely hate that! Then the next night I feel anxious again and work myself up because I think I'll have another one. It's a vicious cycle!

What I do is first try to do something to calm down, like read or listen to music or play some distracting game on the computer (Bejeweled works wonders!!). If none of that works, I'll take a Benadryl or Dramamine to relax and get sleepy and calm. I try not to do that though unless all else fails. I also put on a comforting movie while I'm in bed, and that works to keep my mind off of things.

But I know how you feel.....I end up staying up all hours of the night sometimes because of it. Alot of mine is anticipation anxiety, which makes me worry about having a panic attack so I end up having one, and it sounds like yours is as well. It's really is awful, but there are ways to help prevent it.

Hope this helps!! Edited by: christianne

I also get mildly anxious when it's bedtime...

My ritual is a shower...lay in bed...turn on the tv but read a book...I love reading and it takes my mind off of my Emet and also makes my eyes tired
