I know alot of us on here are afraid of getting sick in public but what
about your children? This is a big fear of mine. Not only do you have
to deal with the fact that they are sick but you also have to face the
    whole being in public thing.

Anyone else have this same fear?

Yes, I fear them being sick in public too. They are older now though, 10 and 6, so I hope I would get some warning. Still, the thought makes me shudder. I always carry a plastic bag around with me anyway, not just for me, but for them too.

They are obviously completely oblivious to my strange ways!

I completely fear v* in public, but not so much for my daughter. I almost would rather her do it in public then I wouldn't have to deal with it at home. My biggest fear is just me having to deal with it and clean it up. I know that is bad.

I feel the same way. Mine are 9 and will be 5 soon, so I am feeling better gradually. Some "things" have happened to people at church and I felt so bad and scared for them. I would freak out....</font>

That would be scary!! I have 3 kids, they are 20 years old, 18, and 15. All throughout their young years, they only got s* maybe a handful of times (all 3 kids combined), and not one of these episodes was in public. Thank goodness!! I have seen kids v* in public, and I do feel bad for them though.

My 2 kids are 5 and 13 months. My eldest isn't too bad now,he knows to run to the bathroom and i always empty and clean out his plastic bin and leave it by his bed every night just in case.He took seriously ill with the norovirus last year and he didn't make it to either!!Lucky my neighbour was a great help as she had worked in hospitals for a great deal of her life so she was used to it.My daughter on the other hand she's had the usual baby v**** but now she's getting bigger i'm petrified.I must admit,if i had to choose and i mean really had to choose i'd rather see a small child v**** in public, there's something about adults doing it compared to kids that really freaks me out although seeing kids is disturbing also i just can't put my finger on why adults are worse.I'm inflicting my hygiene obsession on my son right now,he carries anti baterial toilet wipes and hand wipes in his school bag because of all the bugs, whether or not he uses them i don't now but at home he does.He must think mummy's a weirdo!!

I'd like to say it never happens, but it does. Last spring, we were at a baseball game. It was a beautiful spring day and all was great with the world. We stopped at Wegmans on our way home to get some fruit for dinner. While there my son suddenly had diarrhea. He also v*** in the car on the way home. At the time he was six years old.

    You just never know.

I sort of get anxiety about that, if my kids ever say tey don't feel good, I try to get them home so that doesn't happen. I have an almost 7 yr. old, a 5 year old and a 19 month old and the only public place it has happened for us is at the urgent care center!!

I worry about it ALL the time. My boys are 7, 5, and 15 months. I obsess about that and about them or I catching germs whenever we go somewhere. I make those kids wash their hands constantly. I"m hoping I'm teaching them good habits though and not making them paranoid!
