    Default Mostly Off Topic: NaNoWriMo

Are there any other writers on here? Any writers doing National Novel Writing Month? For people who don't know, it's a conpetition (kind of) where participants attempt to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. This is my fourth year trying. I got to 50,000 my first year, and the past two were terrible. And this year I started late because of exams, but anyways. Is there anyone else on here who likes to write?

The reason I ask is because having this to focus on has really been helping me keep my anxiety down. Whenever I've been feeling anxious about anything this month, I've turned to my writing, and I was wondering if there's anyone else who does the same thing.

Maybe I'm the only one... Lol.

I've attempted it before but never managed, especially since having a child. I now do a much lower and attainable daily word count but try to do it all year. I get in slumps though sometimes- my daughter never sleeps and it makes me brain dead.
    What kind do you write??

Good to know there's someone else on here crazy enough for it :P And yeah, I have a friend who only writes while her daughter is sleeping, and at the moment, her daughter is having tests for constant headaches, so she hardly ever sleeps. It must be hard attempting it while caring for kids. I'm having enough trouble getting to my daily word count and I'm a uni student currently on holidays! :P
This year I'm writing a romance, but I think I only settled on that because I started nine days late, and I fell back onto something that I could squeeze a lot of words out of everything in a romance. It's going to go through some SERIOUS editing once I hit december. How about you?

Oh, that sounds awesome. I was thinking that my character for next year is going to be emetophobic, which will be interesting. If you ever need someone to bounce ideas off or anything, PM me I love connecting with other people who write!

Hi again! I started Nanowrimo 6 days late and gave up on it a week or so ago. I got to about 20,000 words before I quit. I'm really glad I started to do it though, because it got me re-motivated into writing a story I started two years ago. It was my first time trying NaNoWrimo, and I'm definitely going to do it next year! Now I know what to expect xD

Good to know there's another writer here... I love writing!

Me too! Writing can be such a release! I'm up to about 20,000 now, and I started on the 10th, so I'm going to write about... 7000 a day, give or take until the month is out. That'll push me over the line... and then some! Are you a member of the forums there or anything? Perhaps we could be writing buddies?
