I'm just curious what kind of job/career choices emetophobes make.
I work in a cosmetic dental centre as a treatment coordinator.

erm.. I'm a medical assistant. I have worked in treatment facilities, and thankfully no one ever threw up while I was working (I only worked there for about 6 months) but now I work in occupational health (physicals/drug screens, etc for employment) so its alot nicer than being aroun sick people everyday lol..
At the moment, I'm unemployed, but when I'm finished my course, I recently got offered a place in the chorus of a professional opera company. Pretty exciting. If that falls through, I will be teaching music at the place where I learnt, which will be pretty awesome.

It's technical, but really not "hard" when you have the specialized knowlege. I truly love what I do. I love being on the water, I love solving problems, I love doing things that make other people happy, I love the travelling lifestyle. It fits me perfectly!
I'm really happy about my last assignment, which was in China. I guess you saw that thread, and the pictures?
I respect your job as a dental nurse, because I would have a difficult time with that. It would make me very uncomfortable seeing people having painful (but necessary) things done to them. I guess it's an empathy thing?
Thanks!
David
I work at Social Security for the government. Emet nightmare with all the germs.
yes you went to china! that would of been amazing. im guessing your back home sfaely now? i get to go to sydney for my work sometimes. i also get to go to melbourne soon but i never really get too excited about those places. i only get scared with my job when people decide they want to vomit out of a panic attack or cause they cant stop gagging *-* your job suddenly doesnt sound too bad. lol

I work in a primary school, with young children (at the moment, 4-7 year olds).
I find it fascinating the big range of careers that we have here. I am currently kind of between jobs which is very frustrating. I have noticed quite a few people here are dental nurses or work in dentistry. I know a lot of people are anxious dental patients (me included!) and I think being an emetophobe might be good in that situation because they understand anxiety having experienced it first hand? I find medical things quite fascinating but I was always way too squeamish to get involved in anything medical, and I didn't do any science qualifications either.
Ive had 5 years off looking after my son since birth (ive told everybody already on here but hes Down Syndrome) I really didnt want to leave him with anybody, before that i worked in promotions. When he settled into his new school im going to go to college and train to be a chef, I love cooking and food!

I'm going to UCLA, but on the side to make money I'm working at Coffee Bean in Beverly Hills. Lots of celebrities- fun times! Plus I get discounts- I'm totally okay with that.
