Default HELP! My 1 year old has a st* :(

I feel so sorry for her. I been using hand sanitizer like crazy. I am scared I will get it from her

She has only v* once but can tend to be gaggy. She is drinking fluids but hardly eating. Her eyes are reddened from crying. She won't hardly sleep. She also has a fever.

I feel so bad that I am not snuggling with her, but I am so scared to get it! Even though I am probably infected, I guess I am just waiting for the symptoms to hit me...

This sounds exactly like what has been worrying me for the past few days! A two year old in my class was v* on tuesday morning and was fine all day wednesday and then v* twice at school on thursday before we sent him home. I am so worried that i might catch what he had! I feel like a sitting duck until tomorrow or maybe even Sunday!

All I can do is tell myself that it was rotavirus that he had and that I most likely will not get it for it is a children bug. So I'm going to tell you the same thing. If it is Rotavirus that our daughter has, chances are you will not catch it and if you do it will be d* not v*

Did she v* on you, or in front of you to the point where you would have ingested it? Does she have d*? Are you keeping her hands clean, and your surfaces? If you're doing all of that then you should be ok. It's easier to isolate a child at that age then say a 6 year old ... Just keep up with the hygiene, make sure she's hydrated, try children's tylenol for the fever. Where do you think she picked it up from? Is she in daycare? Could it have been something she ate? Lots of factors to consider.

She has no d * but she got sick in the kitchen and i was not in there. She stays with me all day and we do go to the park and stuff with other children . I am keeping my hands clean. It has been exactly 24 hours since i have been exposed. I just keep crying and crying and worrying. I am starting my period soon and can't imagine me getting the sv* while i am on it. I am worrying alot its the first time i had to deal with this.

Now she is feeling better. So it lasted 25 Hours. That's a flu. Flu's last short times. My throat is a bit scratchy though. Maybe because I haven't smoked many cigarettes today..

She only v* once & no d*? Could be a virus but also could not. Is she teething? I kno when my nephew was teething he would get fevers & be sickly a lot ... At least she is feeling better now! You're almost in the clear too ... Stay distracted & you'll be fine.

She might be teething but if she is I didn't know you could get a fever from that.

Oh yeah fevers are super common in teething, so is being sick. My nephew used to be sick a lot, not sure if he ever actually v* but i know he has had d* from it, fever all the time, colds, runny noses, etc. If she only v* once u may want to call her dr and ask about teething

We took her to the Urgent Care and they PRETTY MUCH said that she is in the process of getting a Viral Infection. That can be a simple cold to Gastroenteritis! But you would think, if a 14 month old had Gastro they would at least have d* and have v* more! Plus she acted like she had bursts of pain probably in abdomen. She could still walk around and she was still capaple of playing with her toys with me.

She v* when she had picked up one of mommy's Tums and put it in her mouth. She didn't eat it but it might have been the taste.

OH! And me and her grandmother thought it was pretty strange how she kept sticking her finger in her nose! She would not leave it alone! But the Doctor checked it out and her ears and throat and seemed okay.

Speaking of her, she just woke up. Like I said, she won't sleep through the night and I am assuming from pain of some sort.
