Default Metro Trains and Motion Sickness

So, I'm conflicted. My emet has triggered a new fear of public transportation that has been very difficult to live with as I have recently moved about 30 minutes from NYC. My in-laws are in town this week and want to take the metro into the city in a couple of days. I am so nervous. I know metro trains make a lot of stops and are usually straight shots but I am still nervous about motion sickness (I get sick in the backseat). Does anyone here use public transport and have any suggestions? Any input will calm my mind! Thank you guys

I live outside the city and have to travel 40km (about 25 miles) every day to work. It takes an hour and a half and while I rarely get motion sickness it's still a pain because I get SO anxious. I always carry my bottle of water and mints (in case I get dizzy) and my headphones so I can listen to music to make it easier. On worst cases of anxiety I take tranquilizers.
I kinda got used to it but I know exactly how you feel, you're definitely not alone. Take a bottle of cold water with you and some mints, if you can take some antiemetic just to be sure. Most of all, try to relax! I know it sounds obvious and who would relax when you're nervous? Well, at least try. You'll be fine

( hate public transit! Try sitting as close to the front as possible or make sure you're looking forward, crack open a window if possible so you don't get too hot. Sucking on a strong mint like Altoids also helps. Listen to music - it's a great distraction.
