    Default therapist suggestion- psychopharmacologist

My therapist suggested I visit a psychopharmacologist (someone who specializes in medication and the effect on the brain and body). I'm planning on making the appointment for later in the summer (it takes 6-8 weeks to get in, but he's got rave reviews, so it sounds worth it).

Has anyone ever had any experience with a specialist like this? I'm hoping to get some kind of medication that will calm me down during an anxiety attack and cut down on my tendency to fixate on things that make me anxious. Any encouragement or advice is welcome. I've never been on any sort of medication and it makes me really nervous (like everything else I guess ).

I'm sorry, I've no advice at all as I only started getting help for this a few weeks ago. Here for you. If you need immediate help, just pm me.

I never heard of that kind of therapy before. I wish I could offer advice. Like Mamafear I too just started counseling about a month ago. I hope it helps you
