I went to a meeting this morning for several of my city's independent schools. While there, a woman comes up to me to see if I remembered her from several years ago. I remembered her alright. She was the mother of the child who had menigitis that she was walking into school and yes, felt my wrath.

At first, I thought uh-oh. I was wrong. She was very nice and actually thanked me. She said that she could have lost her son had she not acted so quickly for treatment. (By the way she is an older mom and this is her only child.) So sometimes it just pays to be opinionated. Other than than sending sick kids to school, I mind my business and don't get involved in the abundance of gossip that goes on.

I guess I found my calling. I wear my crown proudly.
