I can't stop having panic attacks. I am so afriad of throwing up lately that I think I am getting the stomach flu like twice a day, and I make myself have full blown panic attacks which are enough to make you pass out all on there own. I had a really bad cold two weeks ago or so and all though I thought I was over it, this week I keep getting really dizzy and that seems to spark panic attacks rather quickly. I have cancelled all my plans this week because I am scared to leave my apartment cause I can't calm down. I don;t know why I am dizzy but it scares the hell out of me. I feel like I am going crazy, truthfully, I can't calm down, I don;t want to leave my apartment and I have been crying all night because I am just so damn exhausted. I need some help, please someone help me, I don;t know what to do and I am so frustated, I can;t stop having panic attacks and freaking out that even the smallest things mean I have the stomach flu. Also why am I so lightheaded. It feels like my head is floating! I had a little headache right behind my eyes all day today too! Help me please, I'm scared.

Hey, im really sorry your feeling bad, is there anyone you can call and talk to?, i know its hard, but when you panic, it could be causing all of this. Do you have any tea or something to drink to try calm you down?. Try and make yourself comfortable and watch tv or something to take your mind off it. Try breathing in for 10 and then out for 10. I really hope your ok. But the best thing is don't think to much, when i think something is wrong, and keep on thinking about it, it really makes things worse. I hope your ok.

The diziness can be caused by multiple things. When having a full on panic attack, your breathing pattern becomes erratic and that can cause a light headed feeling. Are you currently ill with a cold? That can cause dizziness too. But I am betting on the panic. Do you have anyone with whom to talk? I know it's really hard, but when you feel the attack creeping up, try to do something to focus your attention on something else.

Also, it might be helpful for you to read Sage's sticky post in the Questions section. It's loaded with questions that her son-in-law, a microbiologist answered regarding how viruses are transmitted. It might actually put your mind at ease a bit.

I hope you are feeling better now.....when I am feeling panicky I try to relax by listneing to music, watching a cheesy film or having a big bubbly bath! Alsodo the deep breathing like ruth suggested, it will help immensely.

i have a sinus infection and due to fluid in my ears it was making me a little dizzy as well. and if you said your head hurt that might mean your sinus's were acting up causing you to feel that way. i don't think its anything to worry about. i'm sure you'll be fine. don't you hate winter?! i always seem to panic about everything so much more than summer..
