If you v*ed in the night...

If you v*ed once in the night and you were pretty sure that it was just something you ate/motion sickness, whatever. Something not contagious basicly, would you stay home the next day, or would you go in to school or work the next day?


I ask because I know if I'm feeling n* I would rather stay home in case I v*, but if I've already v*ed I would rather be somewhere I could take my mind off it.

OMG I'd stay home! I actually came into work first thing in the morning when I had v* the night before, only because I knew it wasn't contagious, but I just felt horrible and I was pale and my ribs were sore from h* so much. My boss sent me home anyway. Just to make sure it wasn't anything serious, I took Lysol wipes and wiped down EVERYTHING on my desk.Next time I'll know just to call, lol.Edited by: metallikat87

My take is, even if I only v* once I'm not considering myself "done" untill 24 hours has passed without another episode. That is my standard.

Last time I did that, I did go to school the next day. Probably not smart, but I was in 7th grade (or 6th?) and I wanted to pretend I was fine. I felt awful and probably should have stayed home.

I totally agree, John. I would do 24 hours of liquid and maybe then 24 hours of regular eating and drinking and theeen if I felt alright I would maybe go to school if I wasn't too traumatised.

I have never v*ed just once before. It has always been at least 6 or 7 times throughout the night. After that I never felt like doing anything for like a week. So If I only v*ed once, I would probably stay home for a couple of days but thats just me.

If I v* at night, I won't go to work the next day! Even if I v* in the afternoon because I want to wait at least 24 hours that I no longer v*. I don't want to be at work thinking I am okay and then start feeling I am ready to v* again. That would just suck. In April this year,I v* 2 hours after leaving work. I v* again at9:00 that night. That was the grand finale, the big one if you will-4th of July fireworks and bombs(ugh) I am never eating Chinese food again-it always got me sick somehow.I knew it had to be food because if it were an sv, my boyfriend would have gotten somewhat sick.I felt I needed to again after the 2ndbut I was trying to keep it down and huddled on the couchtrying to sleep.At the same timeIf I dida 3rd time I am able to v*, I can deal with v* at that point. I just hate the 1st and 2nd parts the most because they are the strongest.

Growing up if we vomited at night my mom would always keep us home for 24 hours to make sure we were okay. I haven't vomited since I was in highschool *knock on wood* but if I were to vomit I would wait 24 hours before eating or drinking ANYTHING and I would stay home for 24 hours.
