First off I was wondering if anyone has an emet boyfriend or
girlfriend...an emet couple? Also anyone with kids that are emets, or
other family memebers? Does anyone know anyone else who is an emet in
    person???

My ex best friend is an Emet...I don't think hers is quite as bad as the majority of us because she has the worst hygiene in the world...*shudder* thinking about it.

But I had to end that friendship because she was using my home as her own, personal brothel.

Nope, I wish. Can't really imagine having an Emetboyfriend orgirlfriend though. I mean, that would be crazy! If you're sick, you can't really go to them for comfort, because then they'll panic that you're sick, then they'll believe they're going to catch whatever you have... then there's an uproar as both of you fight over the thermometer. It would be a madhouse!

I have only met people from this site in person, but since I joined back in 2000, I have met...7 emets in person!

A Girl I was friends with 3-4 years ago was an emet. She was a lot worse than me. She would go to the hospital all the time for gas because she thought it would make her sick and her fear was that if she v* she would choke and die.

I know one other person who is an emet. She is my brothers girlfriend. She is not afraid of v*ing herself, she is afraid of doing it in public. She is also afraid of other people v*ing. I never knew she was emet until I noticed that she always had pepto with her. She called it "the pink drink" and I asked her about it. Then I told her about my phobia and she said she never realized that it was an actual fear. Now we talk about it all the time and my brother just rolls his eyes at us.

My best friend has a touch of emet...nowhere as bad as mine. She eats whatever, does whatever and doesn't have panic attacks. She just will not allow herself to v*. If she does(and it has been many years) she freaks...but only right before and after. Still, she understands me and is supportive.

My twin sister is emetophobic, but doesn't have it quite as bad as she used to. She did have it REALLY bad a few years ago when she was living in LA, and it progressed to agoraphobia. She didn't leave her house for weeks after witnessing someone v*ing at a health clinic. She eventually sought treatment and got therapy and meds, and after a while was able to get out of her house. Now she never stays home and is always out and about.

My aunt is kind of an emet. But because of the way my family thinks, she won't show her actual feelings on it, to avoid judgement of others and to not show any vulnerability. I don't give a crap I would rather not suffer. I say it loud and proud!! I AM AN EMET!!!! That doesn't make anyone any less of a person

I actually have it pretty good because my boss is a severe emet, even worse than I am. She also has IBS bad at different times. When the sv* is going around we both are doing the lysol thing and have each other for support. I am really lucky to know someone that is also emet and I am thankful that I met her and work for her. She is a licensed therapist too!! It makes me feel a little better too because she is worse in the sense that even when someone is in the bathroom and v* due to morning sickness or anything that is not sv* related she can't even be in the building. I can be around in all contexts now except when it has to do with an sv*.
We have got to be able to laugh at ourselves about this!!
