Finally! It kinda concerns me that it took so long for the darn health commissioner to come out and say that... if she didn't know that herself she needs a new job. Did you mention this at all under the "airborne sv*" post to calm some of those people down?

Funny thing is, Onondaga County has a strict policy regarding food handlers wearing gloves and changing them if they use the restroom. So methinks this restaurant was not following procedures.

I agree with you Marie, that the restaurant probably wasn't following proper procedure. I saw the owner or manager on the news, and he looked a little "shady."

Proof again thatthis thing is preventable if we simply follow the basics!

...well a little hard if its in your food or drink...but from general exposure to others! I feel a little bolder now!

The scarry thing is, I hear high school students talk about going to work sick with an sv* cause their boss won't let them off. I watch them wear gloves alright. They wear them and never take them off or change them. What airheads! Duh! If I have on gloves everything is OK. I read on the CDC about noro transferred in food. It saidit isstill contagious 3 days after you get better and can be as long as two weeks. Oh crap! I see what is out there working at these fast food places. I would say that I am done eating fast food. I used to think that Pannera Bread was safe till I saw this Goth type guy put my bagel up against his filthy apron trying to get it in a bag. That is the same apron he wore into the bathroom andprobably the same dirty glove he picked his buttwith.

    I've worked fast food.....

Now the only place I eat fast food are places I can watch them make my stuff.

Oh and the CDC, that's how long they can find virus particles in the sick persons stool, they aren't sure if its active virus. Researchers even say so in papers. It's just one of those cases, when in doubt, better safe than sorry.
