Mac41090,

I don't know what to tell you. I have had this fear since I was a teenager. I didn't know what it was called until just recently and I was a nurse for 10 years. I didn't know there was a name for it. I am not keen on labels and really don't like to think of myself as an 'Emetophobic.' However, I can't deny it. I am. I don't know how to fix it either. If I could, I would. Hey, everybody has fears. Some are irrational. I don't fear worms but my mother would faint if she saw one. All the women I work with hate feet, I rub my husbands feet everynight. It's just different strokes for different folks. By the way, I have a fear of heights and I hate to fly too. Don't worry about ending up like us. It's not so bad. I live a normal life. I work, I go out to dinner, I shop, I travel. I'm not like a freak or recluse. I just don't like v* and I avoid it the best I can. There are times when I don't think about it for months at a time. Then there are hard times. Don't worry. My guess is that there are some of your friends out there that have fears just like you.
