Hello fellow emets!! I am a new member and no longer do I feel alone with this phobia any longer. I want to thank Char for helping me get on board. Where was the internet all these years?? My fear started at age 7. In everyone of your stories there is a part of me saying YES, I know what you are feeling. It takes courage to get through each day. I hate this time of year. You will not see me going to the movies or a large shopping mall to Christmas shop when it is packed with people. Too many germs! I am better than I used to be but if I feel like I am going to v* I freak. If I know someone with a sv I run even if they tell me they know someone who has it.

Well, I'll keep this short but I just want to say how happy this board makes me

    Hi KASEY,

I live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, but I'd rather live where it is warm. We have some very cold winters BBrrrrrrr.....

    Hey Barbara,

A fellow Mid-westerner! I live just north of Des Moines, IA & Melanie (1scareddj) lives in WI near Dubuque. Still a ways away, but I can relate to the cold winters.

Welcome. I always recommend that all newbies (I'm rather new myself) read Alvin and Sage's Q&A under the Q&A discussion forum. It's one of the top "thingys" that are permenant. That did me SO much good.

    Look forward to "chatting".

    Hi Barbara!

I live in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago too, and absolutely despise the cold weather here as well! I always threaten to move somewhere warm every winter, but never do it. Still, it's an amazing city---especially in spring and summer.

This really is a great site---alot of great information and advice on here. Wonderful people to!

Welcome to the site and good luck!!

    What a warm welcome.

I will read the Q&A as you suggested Susan. I have been glued to this site for about 2 weeks. At first I had trouble getting on. I have a comcast email address but somehow I didn't recieve an activation. I emailed Charlette ( she had her email posted on the calender thread) and she suggested using a yahoo address. I did and was activated immediantly!

Anyway I do catering part time and today I had to deliever food to a doctors office. I asked the staff what sicknesses they are seeing most and all of them said strep throat and broncitis. That gave me a sigh of relief! Just thought I'd pass that one on. I also ask the pharmasist. I know..I'm weird that way

Hey Charlene ~ I will always remember you for your help. THANK YOU! Now I have a voice. I bet it is common to say that before this site, most of us had no one to talk to who understood but now there is a family on this board who do understand and would never think we are crazy or weird.

Mary I live in Algonquin. Not too far from Grayslake. I have a sister who lives in Lake Villa. Do you wish to reveal where you live Christianne? You can send it by email if you wish.

Kasey, I would love a get together. Alabama huh! Keep us posted on new developements.

I have to go to work so I will check return tonight.

Glad to have so many new friends/family!

    Hey everyone!
I am in Arizona, and let me tell you, the same 360 days of blazing sun gets to ya. I wish I could enjoy some seasons. I would love to hear rain falling or see snow flurries out my window.
