Hi There!
Spray the hell out of it with Lysol, then, before you touch it, spray it with any foaming action cleaner - assuming it's on the floor - and wipe it up with a TON of paper towels so that you don't touch it, and throw them in a bag and into the garbage cans! YUCK!
In the bed - roll up the sheets, and anything the v* is on and throw them away! Only kidding!!!! Throw them into the wash and put that baby on HOT!
In the car (personal experience here) - take apart the car seat, wash the liner. Spray the car with the above chemicals, and wipe it down.
Totally Toddler is the name of a cleaner. It is only thing that took the smell out of my car. The stuff is like gold!
It only happened once to me so far, I have a 2 and half year old. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but wicked scary just the same.
Keep the Vitamin C going!!!!!!

Great advice Nichole!! That's exactly what I do......except I also scrub my hands with hot water and soap and bleach about a million times during and after cleaning it up! Edited by: christianne
Glove. Keep some surgical latex or non-latex gloves on hand and I keep surgical mask on the ready to (y'all stop laughing at me)!
Kids v* easily in most cases. Sometimes it's infectious, or times it's not. I treat it like it's infectious.
sv* is not killed with Lysol in most cases. Keep you a spray bottle of bleach wather ready (half water half bleach) but do not use on fabric or carpet becasue it will bleach it out!
Let me give you more than your asking for while I'm at it. We pulled up all the carpet in our bathrooms and put in tile. Easy to clean and more hyginic (vinyl is a good option too).
If your child get sick in there bed (hate it when that happens). Strip the sheets put them in a garbage bag and deside if you want to wash them or throw them away (I've done both).
ONce my kids are sick I make them a pallet on the bathroom floor and have them sleep there until the v* stops. I know that sounds cruel but they never protest and like knowing they do not have to run and try and make it. bottom line, make them comfortable as possible no matter where it is.
There is a dry material that you can put on the v* that dries is out and you can sweep it up or you can wipe it up with paper towel or whatever. I try to use anything that I can throw away or flush to avoid spreading the infection.
Side note. have your clid rinse their mouth but tell them not to swollow the water. They will v* again almost imediatly. Wait an hour before trying to administer anything by mouth and when the child feels ready.
If they have never v* before use it as a training too to help them remember how it feels so if they feel liek that again they know to go to the bathroom.
Yes, I v* trained my kids! LOL!
As with any of this advise, use common sence and follow the advie of your Doctor and follow lable instructions on cleaning products or medications.
With kids, it does happen and I wish you strength! It's hard on emets but the parent gene seems to override the emets fear in most cases. it did in my case!
You all gave such good advice!!! Thank you so much! Makes it easier to know what to do ahead of time! Thank you!!!

how do you clean it out of the carpet?
I don't have kids and think this is great advice!! But yeah, if it's on a carpet, what do you do? I remember I was 13 and went to my mother and told her I felt sick. Then I was leaving her room and it just came out on the carpet. Iffelt more about to come and ran to the bathroom and made it to sink. She was not even grossed out. She got a lot of paper towels and soap and cleaned the carpet up. Carpet v* has to be THE worst. Then that stain is there...reminding you...ugh...Nobody loves you like your parents. johnlp, awesome advice.
Bleach kills everything! Thats what I use.
Good advice John - about the rinsing of the mouth. I'll keep that in mind!!
Nichole
When my kids are v* I get a bowl and a roll of small garbage bags to line the bowl with, and everytime they v* I just bag it up and throw it out, then start again. My kids are older, and they will still lay there until the very last second, just long enough to recognize that look on their face and put the bowl under their chin. I also keep a slew of cleaning products right around. I didn't know that about the lysol though, eeep!
We have a bissel little green carpet cleaner.
*GROSS*
We scoop up any chunks and then use the carpet cleaner to get up the residue.
