Argh, this is sooooo rotten. EVERYONE I know has been getting sick. It sucks so bad. Trent's sister was telling me about this party she and her boyfriend and his family went to some party LAST weekend and I guess 21 out of 24 people at that party got the sv*. Like, BAD. Everyone got it within 1-2 days of the party. So, yeah, at church today, they're all exchanging their horror stories. I'm standing there doing my best not to freak and well, lets just say that I've barely eaten this weekend. I know, there's probably NO WAY they're still all contagious after nearly a week, especially if they no longer have symptoms, but I'm freaking out and worried.


My boyfriend and I also had a fight earlier, so I'm tired and not feeling well, which is making my emet go nuts. I hate this. I hated listening to their horror stories. I'm trying to act normal and not FREAK out, but its hard. We're staying here for a few days for the holidays and I'm not at my own house. I want to go home and away from these people, yes, even though they aren't sick anymore.

I am sorry you had to experience that. I don't know why people like to exchange those kinds of stories. It's so gross.


I'm sorry that you and your boyfriend had a fight. I know for me when my anxiety is high it's hard for me to deal with other issues that are going on and I only feel comfortable at home in my 'safe place'. Hang in there.

OMG 21 our of 24 people? I am hoping that is from contaminated food...Like someone was sick and fixed the food and they all got it...Please tell me I am right.

No one is really sure exactly how so many people got sick. Most people all ate the same thing. Even one person who got it didn't eat anything at all that day, so didn't have any contact with the food. It probably spread many ways!! Ugh, they even told me about a guy that was at the party and had to leave for a business trip the next day. It didn't even HIT him until the plane was in the air. What a terrible place to be ill.


There was, however, some kid that HAD been sick that previous Thursday and Friday (the party on Saturday), so my guess is that the kid just happened to still be contagious. All I have to say is the bug is flying around Michigan like you would NOT believe. It's so scary!!


THIS IS SO FREAKING SCARY. I want to go home!! I hate fights and my anxiety....sucks.


Ugh and my abdomen is starting to hurt. The upper right side, so not my stomach, but its an aching, slightly throbbing pain. Blech....I am totally a freak. Edited by: melissarene

Hey, I feel your pain on this one, believe me! Its bad down here and I haven't been sleeping or eating right for weeks now. It seems like everyone that comes in our office brings their children in that are sick with "it." I have had more exposure therapy than I can handle!! That does sound more like food poisoning though to me if that many people got sick that quick. I hate when people discuss it too, I have heard my share of damn stories lately too. I think that people talk about it because it IS abnormal for them too...makes me feel better about it anyways. Hang in there, this is a hard time of year for all of us.

I want someone to create a device like a metal detector but only a virus detector that can alert us to the infectious people, this kind of mess gets me creeped out to where I don't want to leave the house, I mean I know I have to, but you just never know if you're being EXPOSED. What did those 3 people do right? I'd really love to know. I know the stories are awful and scary and I swear when you have this phobia, people come out of the woodwork to tell ya their stories. But I read in this OCD book I got for my daughter that you actually are better off exposing yourself to these stories because trying to hide only makes the fear stronger. Which, I've always done the opposite and thought, the more I don't know won't hurt me.

Not sure what those three people did right. It sounds like, however, that it COULD have been contamination of the food. One or two of the people who lived in that house, had been sick Thursday and Friday. With the party on Saturday, maybe they were still contagious and contaminated the food they were making. Not sure. I talked to someone who had NOT gotten sick and she said she ate the same things her husband ate, and he got insanely sick while she didn't. Weirdness....You never know sometimes exactly how it happens....

Yuck! That is hard to hear...21 out of 24. I know what you mean about people talking about it....its like you just wanna say...uh excuse me not everyone wants to hear about your v*ing and d* ewwwww keep it private please!


I am almost sure though that you will not catch what they had, that should be long gone by now!
