The front page of our local newspaper read the headline - Stomach Flu Hits Town. I knew that it was going around, but I guess that it is an even bigger problem than I thought. I was feeling actually pretty good because winter vacation started and now I am out of school, so I figured that I am away from many of the germs that were out there. Now I am scared to go anywhere, because this is not only at my school. Everyone in Fargo has been getting it. That's where I live.. it's in North Dakota. I'm really scared now. I just reallly reallly reallllly don't want to getsick and I don't want to V*....and I can't breathe. I am convinced I have it or I am going to get it. On my earlier topic I said that my throat hurt and you guys sort of calmed me down by saying it was just a cold, but now I am really scared it is something else.Like, beyond scared. I just want to go to sleep and wake up in June.

Yes definitely.. I just get terrible panic attacks.. so sometimes Ican completely freak out. I am just praying that I stay healthy, and other than washing my hands and eating right, that's all I can do. It's just hard to think that way when I have my panic attacks. Thanks for being so nice to me.

    Hi Emma,

I am pretty convinced that us emets usually only catch sv* type stuff when we accidentally or by chance eat somewhere that is unsanitary. I think it is rare to catch a sv* other than through ingesting it. Have you eaten out a lot lately? How are the people you ate out with if so? Were you around anyone who was sick? If not, then you are probably fine.

Just because a sv* is going around town doesn't mean you will catch it. I live in Arizona and about four years ago I worked in a school where there was such a bad sv* (Norwalk) outbreak it got on the news. You might have even heard about it. Well, I was around tons of kids and adults who were sick. One even v* on my shoes. In four years I have not v* one single time. Why? I am very clean. I wash my hands. I'm careful where I eat. And I am lucky. Yes, sv* are common, but also consider in a town "stricken" with the virus how many people do NOT get it? Chances are, you will be one of those lucky ones. Also, remember, the sv* comes on you fast. You would not be feeling ill for very long before you know you have it. And I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure it does not start with a sore throat. If you are not v* already chances are you will NOT. I really hope this helps.

Relax and let us be here for you!

    Have a truly merry holiday!

This is not to say I don't understand your panic. Yes, I totally understand! I do my share of freaking out.

I am feeling pretty good today. My stomach did hurt last night and a little this morning, but I have a feeling it may just be from all of the snickerdoodle cookies I ate last night. Not a good idea.. I really never ever get sick and I just completely freak myself out sometimes. I just ate and I feel fine so I need to reassure myself that I AM fine. Thanks for all of your help and understanding. Have a Merry Christmas.

Ha well nothing remotely exciting ever happens in Fargo, so that could be the case.

In North Dakota.. I hate it. It's never warm here. Not until like July.
