I am feeling your pain! Everyone in my family, boyfriends family, and people at the urgent care I went to (not for a sv)had or have it. My boyfriend has been staying with me. He woke me up at 400am and told me he had to do it, and not to worry. (YEAH RIGHT!!!) He is getting over it now. I cant believe how many people have had this year!!! Its unreal. My mom, brother, sister, neice, nephew, brother in law, both brother in laws parents, nurse at the urgent care, boyfriend, boyfriends mom, and two of my cousins!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like a sitting duck. The nights are the worst time too, cause I dont want to wake up in the middle of the night to do it. But like the first post said, most of the time us emets dont end up getting it (knock on wood). You will usualy see a post about someones family getting it, and the emet waiting for it to happen to them and it just doesnt, and IF it does they usualy have d instead. I have no idea why. My theory is that when we feel like v, we such a bad panic attack that it sets off the sympathetic nervous system, which stops the stomach from turning, and maybe closes off the esophageal, or lower sphincter (between stomach and esophagus) I am sure you have heard of "Fight or flight" Well that is your sympathetic system that kicks in during panic. Then there is "rest and digest" which is parasympathetic. Thats is just a thoery I thougth of. Cause I had the sv a few years ago and my body was trying to v, and nothing would come up becuase I was having such a bad panic attack, so I thought maybe that was making it harder for the stomach to do its work. Sorry for rambling. I am here with you going through the same thing. I slept in bed with my boyfriend as he had too. I feel dumb for doing it but Iwanted to comfort him.. Ill be thinking of you. Keep me posted
