Our Producer came in today sick. He has been v*ing off and on since monday. He came in for awhile yesterday too. I wish he would just go home,I am so scared. He is sitting at his desk looking miserable and drinking Pedialyte. Its so weird, because we have a really easy going company and he calls in sick ALOT, I dont know why today is different. There isnt really anything going on. Help, help, help.. Feel sorry for me.

Hang in there. That's a LONG time for sv* to hang on. I'm guessing especially since he calls in sick a lot, that it is something else going on. I know ulcers can cause that, as well as, kidney stones. My dad was having a lot of v* & I know they were going to check for those things. Ends up it was pnuemonia (not the contagious kind).

Keep your distance from him. Wash your hands & don't touch your face. Remember, if it is the sv*, it's only transmitted through v* & fecal stuff. So, as long as he hasn't done that there, you should be just fine.

Try to get your mind to a "happy place". Can you think of a trip that was fun, or an event? Just relieve those over and over in your mind. Get a breath of fresh air if you can. Hope it's sunny there. It's about 9 degrees in Iowa, but it's sunny. Tell everyone you have a migraine & just close your eyes for a while .

I do feel for you! You'll be okay!

Thanks so much for your reply. You are right, there is a good chance that he doesnt have a virus. Who knows what else may be going on with him.

I am sitting at my desk with my headphones on, listening (an sorta watching) 6ft Under on my computer. It is a good distraction. Now I only have another hour till I get to go home.

Ugh, he is lying under his desk. Eeeeekkk.

Sounds like he's kind of a drama queen (or king)!

Thanks for the doggie comment. Gainer is our retired greyhound. We got him in June from a rescue adoption agency. He's such an awesome dog. I highly recommend greyhounds!

Let me know how it goes tomorrow. If he's truly sick enough he needs to lye under his desk, he shouldn't be there! What is everyone else doing? Anyone asking him if he's okay, or is this normal for him?

BTW, if I'm not being too nosey, what do you do that you have a producer?

Oh, I love greyhounds. I am hoping to get one someday when I actually can buy a home. My BF is really wanting to rescue one.

Yeah, he is a total drama king. But I really think he is sick. He seems to always be sick. I feel bad for him, but at the same time I am really scared. He came over to my desk and sat in my guest chair for a little while. But he didnt touch anything else, so I think I am OK. Ack..

I work at a video game company, so it is totally lax here. I guess it isnt unheard of for people to be sleeping in the office. hehe.

I will let you know if he is here tomorrow. Half and hour and I can go home!!

Eww. I think I would have said, "I don't allow sick people in my chairs/office/area/personal space." You can say it jokingly, but get your point across. Some people don't realize you don't want to share in their misery.

That sounds like a fun job! I thought maybe you were an on-air personality. You look like you could be.

I hope you get to adopt a greyhound. They all have such sweet, laid-back personalities. They're actually good dogs for an apartment if you don't mind walking them. They don't need much room & they're usually sleeping. If you adopt a retired racer, they're almost always kennel trained & used to being in it all day. I will take Gainer to the ball fields sometimes & let him run loose. He's amazing to watch.

I would actually like to start doing pet therapy with him. I think he would be perfect. He's not demanding or hyper in the least. He loves people. If you want, you can check out the group we got him from. It's www.heartlandgreyhoundadoption.org. They have photos of available dogs. I love just looking at them.

Sorry, I get a little off subject, especially when it comes to animals.

So, is he there today? And, is he upright?

He is here today, and said he is feeling much better. Thank goodness. I feel bad for bieng such a scardy cat, but hey.. I guess that just comes with the territory. But there is 2 people out today with a SV. Yikes. They are all claiming food poisoning, lets hope they are right.

I looked up the greyhound rescue for the san fransisco area, and it looks great! i cant wait for the day when i can get one. That is a really great program. Those poor puppies. We cant get one at our current house because we live in a really old victorian with beautiful wood floors. The owners wont allow a dog because the floor may get scratched up. But it wont be forever. But the good news is when i do get to have one, i will be able to take it to work with me, which i am so excited about. i would love to have a doggy with me all day long, even if he is just sleeping.

Thanks for talking with me, I appreciate it!

Glad to! I enjoyed it too. Send me a picture when you get your greyhound!
