I'm home from school today as I had a very bad migraine this morning. I've missed quite a bit of school which is bad. Does anybody have any tips on how to get less migraines or get rid of them? *feels weak and pitiful*

I know EXACTLY how you feel.. because of my crohns disease ive been home for the past few weeks!! I get migraines too and talk to your doctor about getting some meds for them.. I take amerge. You need to take the meds RIGHT when you can tell you have a migraine coming on. Make sure you eat enough too because thats what causes my migraines.. lack of nutrition.

Oh babe, I am not kidding...that stuff works...I know the feeling, I have heaved because of my migraines...I actually get the vision migraines also...The kind that make you go blind...That's a lot of fun.

Go to Walgreens and buy it PRONTO! You just rub the tube all over your head. It has an icy hot feeling. I am so serious that it works. Aleve didn't work, Head On did...go figure.

It makes your head kinda tingly and numb...I have tubes of it stashed away in my house, car, The Don's car, etc.

I should be the spokeswoman for Head On...Love Love Love it!

Haha kasey I get those too!! My eyes will all of a sudden get a ton of blurry spots and it will look like I just got my picture taken and I could still see the flash.. But I am definitely going to get some of that.. Because I always put an ice pack on my head and then I go into the bath tub and put a hot washcloth over my head so I bet its pretty much the same idea haha

I think she meant pic. I don't suffer from migraines, just headaches so I probably won't be of much help. My husband does though and I've done a little reading about them. Other than prescription medication, you could try acupuncture or herbal remedies. I've also read that diets deficient in certain vitamins and minerals can cause them. If that's the case some sort of supplement might help.Too bad the Head On didn't work for you. I heart the crap out of that stuff. Where do I sign up for the Head On fan club, Kasey?

I get migraines too, so I feel for you. What I do is take excedrin Migraine its OTC and you can get it at Walmart. Do not take it on an empty stomach have a few crackers or some dry toast as it contains asprin. Then I get a cool wet wash cloth and put it on my head 1/2 an hour and the migraine is gone!! I hope you feel better soon!

I get really bad headaches a lot but luckily only suffer migraines on rare occasions. Luckily I have a warning before the pain starts when I getmigraines -my eyesight goes weird (just like I've been looking into the sun and then have those blind spots) so I can sometimesstop the pain by taking painkillers.I too recommend the natural remedy stick - over here it's called 4Head, but it sounds exactly the same as the Head On. Another good idea is to keep a diary of your migraines and headaches, writing down what you've eaten, how intense the headache is, what you've been doing that day etc - this way it's possible to see if there's a link between something you are eating, lack of sleep, stressetc causing them. Chocolate and cheese quite often can give some people migraines. An example of a diary is here: http://www.webmd.com/content/article/46/1826_50671.htm
