    Default Getting Really Scared

So my husband and son and daughter had a sv the last week. My husbands was approx 72 hours ago. This morning I woke up feeling fine and then my gut started cramping and I have had d* 3 times and feel more cramping coming on. I am freaking out. My husband works a very stressful job and is in meetings all day....plus he travels a lot and will be going to China next week which always scares the crap out of me because one of the biggest parts of my fear is being alone when sick. I am freaking out...every time I go into the bathroom I take the phone with me and call leaving him voice mails of me crying and freaking out....just need some support to get through this.

Just remember, us emets think ourselves sick...
Anxiety and stress can bring on nausea, hot flushes, cramps and even diarrhea... if you dont believe my word for it google it....
Now what might make you feel better is to put an action plan together if you do fall sick at some stage, I really highly doubt you have caught their s*v* as I imagine with your phobia you are very careful to be hygenic when others in the house are unwell.... just because others have it does not mean you will!
My mother nursed her mother through s*v* and with bleaching surfaces touched by her ill mother and washing her hands regularly before touching her face she managed to avoid it, whilst her sister who did not use bleach and regular hand washing did get it....
Also the period of time when you should see symptoms after you have contact with this virus is between 12 and 52 or 54 hours.... if it has been 72 hours you are well in the clear!! and you are probably self inflicting these symptoms with your anxious thoughts....
If you are still afraid go and get some antid* medication from your chemist and an antiemetic too... it can help to keep them on hand

I don't feel extremely n* but my stomach is still cramping. I am trying to calm myself down. I haven't eaten much the last few days except for the BRAT diet....not wanting to "upset' my stomach. I don't know what's going on. I just tried to eat a few soda crackers because I was beginning to feel some hunger pains. I am hoping I don't have anymore d* my kids were screaming the whole time and I am sitting in the bathroom crying. I am so tired and worn out from the obsessive cleaning, washing my dry cracked hands and watching my kids every move to see if the other is going to get it. I can only hope it's stress related....I don't usually get d* from stress but it could be. Thanks for the support. It helps so much to know that I'm not alone.

You are not alone hun I am with you all the way...I am freaking out too as my son was near someone being sick today at school and I have just got my head round the fact it is now 10 days since my other son got an sv and that we must now be in the clear. It is a major setback and a waiting game counting the hours till he is clear!

I HATE setbacks like that...just when you start to calm down...something happens to trigger it and it takes so long to relax again....so frustrating!! Hope you guys stay healthy.

hope you are feeling better by now......and that it's just the stress of the sv season you are experiencing.......you can always come in here if you are alone and scared.....i know there has always been somebody in here 24/7 to help you through it........or find another distraction.....i play trivia on the internet......others are in the room so it takes some concentration and that helps calm me most times.
    take care
    how i feel about emet
