Hello you two from Brisbane. Its nice to hear that we Australians are represented here too. Have either of you had any success with Dr's and treatment in Australia? I am in Melbourne and I have two really excellent Dr's who are trying their best but really seem to have too much experience with our phobia. Would love to get them in contact with someone who does.

I have just been part of a study with CBT and emetophobia for over 12 weeks. It did not work for me and my therapist recommended that I try Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). I bought two books that he suggested: The Happiness Trap and the Mindfulness & Acceptance Workbook for Anxiety.

I think that sounds great Erika G. I read the happiness trap and it helped me in dealing with depression. Didn't think to apply it to emetophobia. But its worth a shot. Good luck!!!
