OH IT'S SO ON NOW!!! I made it through my workday but I think
this bastard finally got me. I've had to visit the restroom 3
times in the last 2 hours. At least I have a back adjustment on
the way home to straighten me out from yesterday. Hopefully I'll
at least be able to make it back and forth to the bathroom tonight
without being in pain. I'm heading home to do battle! This
is one nasty bug; I've never seen my father-in-law go down as hard as
he did today. But this bug hasn't faced an emet veteran of 20
years like myself yet either!

For those of you who are Christians, please say a prayer for me tonight,
everyone else, wish me luck. I'm going in! I'll post an
update tomorrow night.

Hi Dravis; I got your PM today. You are doing really well. Cleaning out the bucket is the hardest thing that I have to do but I have no choice. Like I said just make sure you wash your hands. Like mothers and grandmothers say," make sure you wash your hands!" Well I prayed for you and I think you will be fine. You are a strong person. I wish the partners in our lives would just take some time and understand what we go through, I think if they did some wouldn't feel ashamed. If you need to PM me I look forward to it.

I almost want to say that I am jealous of you and your family getting sick, simply because I am sure you all won't have a stomach bug for a while! I wish that my family/kids got their "winter" vomiting, just so I won't have to worry for a while. *sigh* Anyways, I hope you did ok with your illness. I remember when ALL of my kids got sick with that like a month after they had already had it. It was quite a few winters back, and at that time my kids were 1 , 3, 6, 8. Man that was truly eventful. What really sucked, was I got it both times, and I was the last one to get it. I just "knew" when I had it though. You just wanna go climb in bed, shut the door, and curl up in a ball and die. I know exactly what you are going through, and I know you will make it! Just think, I am JEALOUS! You should be proud!!!! On another note, sorry you and your family had to go through that! Let us know how you did! If you can do all that, it inspires me!!! Charlotte

Sorry for the false alarm everyone... By the time I got to the
chiropractor I had to run to the restroom. I sat in the lobby
feeling ill just praying that I could last long enough to get an
adjustment because I was in such extreme pain. Not only did I
make it through the adjustment but by the time I got home, I was
hungry! My wife had a fabulous home made chicken soup waiting for
me and I had a huge bowl. My stomach was on and off after dinner
but no more bathroom visits. I went to bed early again and didn't
wake up til it was time to get ready for work and here I am. I
thought for sure I was done for... Maybe it was all your thoughts and
prayers that stopped it from coming? I'm not 100% convinced I'm
in the clear yet (after all it's only been a couple days) but I gain
more confidence as each day passes.

It's true about washing your hands. I was obsessive about
it. If I got my wife or daughter a drink, I'd wash my hands
afterward. If I went to the bathroom, I washed my hands
afterward. If I prepared some food for myself, I'd wash my hands
first. I also took a multivitamin every day, avoided alcohol
(except for 1 glass of wine before bed each night because my
chiropractor claims it helps wipe out any bad stuff in your stomach)
and I went to bed early each night.

Thanks again for all your kind words and I'm really glad that my experience has inspired some of you.

Sounds like your doing everything right!! Good job, and I'm sure as long as you keep doing what your doing, you won't get it. That's interesting about the wine, I've never heard of that before!!

Me neither, but I've always sworn by a shot of vodka whenever my stomach's been churning. I figure the alcohol might be strong enough to kill any germs that might be knocking around in there!

dravis, YOU'RE AMAZING! you made it through something that all of us dread. I hope that your wife has a better understanding of what you go through, now that the family has been through this. You really have impressed all of us.

Everyone's doing well now thanks. My in laws got off to Florida
(a few days late because it took my mother in law quite a while to
recoup from this one). My wife and kids are all better. We
had our son's 2 year birthday party on Saturday. It's been a full
week now and I'm about 95% over "the fear". I'm still a little
worried though because this bug is going around our area like
gangbusters and I know it could come back around to hit us again but
I'm not going to obsess over it. My back is still killing me from
when it blew out on me last Sunday. My chiropractor can't seem to
help it so I'm going to my regular doctor today to have it checked
out. At least I can get some painkillers.

Thanks for checking up on me, I hope all is well with everyone
else. If anyone needs some support please feel free to private
message me. I'm no expert but after going through what I went
through the last couple of weeks, at least I can relate with what
you're going through.
