    Default Hi :)

Hi everyone, I dont know if this is the right place to post this but it's just a general hello to everyone & to explain a little bit about myself. I've just joined the forum today & am so pleased i've found somewhere I can chat to other people with the same phobia as myself. First of all, I suffer with really bad Emetophobia. Ever since I was around the age of 6/7 i've been petrified of vomit, as in being sick myself or seeing/hearing someone else be sick near me. It's awful and must be one of the most severe phobia's that there is. Through my high school years it never seemed to take over my life as much as it does now, i've been out of education for around 7 months now.. and my phobia has just completely taken over my life. I've found it difficult to find a job and did not carry on with education for various different reasons, but plan on going back into it later in the year.

    - I know that is a lot for a first post, but I want to share how i'm feeling with people I know will understand. Thankyou for taking the time to read this, Tasha.

    Hi Tasha

It's so nice to finally find a place where you don't have to be alone with your fear. Like Abbi said, I hope you find comfort here as well. Don't be afraid to ask questions, there's tonnes of helpful members

    welcome to the forum

i was alot like you ...really didn't have many problems with emet while in school......i really think it was because it was so distracting and very scheduled. i found once out of school that i spent more time alone worrying about being sick and could pretty much stay around the house if i wanted to........not a good idea....keep active.....get a job........get out of the house its tough at first, but will be well worth it.......

distractions are the best medicine for an emet
    how i feel about emet

Hey, thankyou, both of you I could actually cry (with tears of joy!) that i'm not completely alone with this. I'm supposed to be starting counselling soon, does anyone have any experience of that & did it work for them? I need a cure, or near enough before I go to college in September, I dont want to be like this then :|
