Worried about something...

Hi all.


This will sound weird...But, here goes...Today I was making Mac n Cheese. I poured the milk into the pan. While I was pouring the milk into the pan I noticed that there was some dry crusty milk on the edge of the opening of the milk container. Some of that crusty dried milk got in my food and I ate it. I noticed my Mac n Cheese tasted bad in some parts. I am worried about getting sick now. Will I get sick and V*? Every product that I used was not expired. I checked all the dates even the butter.

Yeah, you should be fine! Could it have been just really strong tasting cheese in some parts? I get that when I make mac and cheese. The crusty milk won't make you ill, especially not in that small amount.

It's probably nothing to worry about. Especially since everything you used wasn't expired, and if you heated all the ingredients together to a hot enough temperature, it would kill off anything remotely harmful.

That crusty stuff around the opening of the milk jug is there all the time, and I've never been I'll from it, nor has anyone else that I'm aware of. I am quite sure you will be okay!

You will be fine. Crusty, stale, even spoiled food doesn't neccessarily mean food poisoning or getting sick. We all eat something that's gone "bad" at some point. At least I know I have unintentionally and I've never gotten sick.

The crusty milk isn't spoiled, it's just dried out and nasty looking. It won't make you sick.
