    Default emet AND med phobic?

I've noticed in a lot of the posts I've read that many of you are taking anti-anxiety medications and/or anti-emetics. Have any of you emets noticed a link between a fear of v* and a fear of taking medications, or is it just me? I have trouble even swallowing most medications, and only take the "tried and true" like Tylenol and my BC pills that I've been on forever. I won't even take vitamins - they are usually too big and I'm afraid of "overdosing" and making myself sick. I'm afaid any pill will make me sick even if it doesn't list it in the side effects. Is this a common link or a seperate phobia that I have to deal with?

I'm even afraid of taking some OTC anti-emetics like Pepto-Bismal. I remember an episode as a kid feeling very sick and wanting to take it, but my mom told me that it won't always stop you from getting sick, and might make it happen faster if it just needs to come out. Ever since - no Pepto for me!

Yes i am phobic about taking meds apart from my antidepressants (they made me feel very sick and i had a very upset stomach when i 1st started them) I wont take any antibiotic apart from penicillin as i know i can take it, i cant take aspirin due to it irritating my stomach so i will only take paracetamol. I refuse to take any other meds at all for fear of it upsetting my stomach.

It all depends on the person and the medication. I have never v* on an anti-depressant or anti-psychotic. I have been on lots and lots to! So, I think it all depends whether you take the medication with food or not.
