Goodness! I'm sorry you had to go through all of that!!!
I've learned the whole not eating/hot shower thing the hard way as well... and learned not to do that anymore!
The first time it happened I had gotten up to quickly in the morning, not eaten at all and jumped into my typical steamy hot shower. I remember as the shower progressed I started feeling weaker and weaker and then very dizzy and then it hit me really hard. I felt like I would puke or pass out or both. I remember sitting in the tub with my head between my knees til the feeling passed and standing back up only to have it happen AGAIN! Bleh... I stayed home from school that day for sure.
The second time was after giving blood and not eating and then walking to the hospital to visit my grandmother. I was feeling dizzy when I got there and mixed with the smell of the hospital and such I felt worse and worse. I was riding down in the elevator with my uncle when that same feeling came over me and I remember blacking out a bit and then I was in his arms when I came to. It was horrible.
It's happened other times, when I got a tooth pulled and got up too quickly and a couple times after giving blood but I've managed to just come close to passing out each time. I know that feeling though and it's NOT a good one!
Glad you came through it so very well and that it's helped you overcome your fears if even just a little bit. God Bless!

Giving up doesn\'t always mean that we are weak. Sometimes it just means that we are strong enough to let go.
