So this morning, I decide to go shopping. I hate the mall because of how gross it is. I get into my favorite store, pick up a few things and head to the dressing room. The girl helping me opens the door and says "don't touch anything I touch, because I am really sick." I immediately freak out and ask her what is wrong with her. "it is like the stomach flu...but kinda not" OMG!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me!?!? I immediately told her I have diabetes and I have to be really careful...and I need someone else to help. I could not even try them on. I just bought everything. The manager who helped me just rolled her eyes when I told her why the other girl could not check me out. Omg! Why would someone go to work when they are ill?!? Just needed to vent!!!

Because she needs the money? Maybe she just had diarrhoea or something. To some people, that kind of thing isn't a big deal.

I hope you manage to relax. You didn't deal with the sick girl much, you should be fine.

I would really like to try the clothes on that I bought, but I am worried that they willl make me sick. Trying to work up the courage.

You won't get sick from the clothes. Somethings are just better left unsaid you know? Then again, most people don't know this kind of thing exists.

I'm new to IES, but definitely not new to emetophobia. If I ever got sick in certain clothing, I would never wear it again, so I understand where you are coming from there. But, the clothing just seems like an association with the sick girl. Try not to worry about it. Try to take some deep breaths and focus on other things. Get distracted by something you enjoy. I'm sure you will be just fine.

@kristinak- I used to do the same thing with not wearing clothes I was sick in! Just nice to know I'm not the only one

Noro can make you feel like crap for days. Some people have to go to work regaurdless.
