Mirtazapine is notorious for causing significant weight gain and metabolic syndrome. Yes, it may be have antiemetic properties but it can have some other pretty nasty side effects. I guess it depends on the person, but for me it wouldn't be worth it to gain 50+ pounds and become prediabetic or diabetic and not suffer anxiety.
