Thread: Smokers?

    Default Smokers?

I was just wondering how many emetophobics here smoke?

I smoke socially (not all too often) but yesterday I smoked with my mum. We went shopping for my wedding dress (yayyy!!) but I was so nervous! I think it was a mixture of nerves from havign to strip to my undies and what not. So my mum gave me a cigarette and throughout the day I had four.

I'm slightly worried though as my mum passed me the cigarette, I didn't take it directly from the box, so her hands weren't sanitised before I took them off her. I know some may say the way to avoid this worry is to not smoke, but I hope that reader's will understand this is not the advice I'm looking for! I'm just worried that she could have had something on her hands from being in town. I suppose the way I'm trying to look at it is that she smokes all the time, and seems to be fine.

So do any other emetophobics smoke whilst out and about? x

There are smokers on this site including me, and trust me I haven't had the SV* since 1997 and I've been smoking since 2001 and I've never got sick! I highly doubt anything will come of it! You really don't have to worry about it!

Thanks for a quick response, I'm actually starting to feel a bit yucky so a bit panicky.

Do you sanitise your hands at all before doing so? Hope you don't mind me asking! x

I try to wash my hands before smoking but I haven't always and I've never caught anything (touch wood!)

    Thanks kam for replying

Fingers crossed the way I'm feeling now isn't related to yesterday's smoke 'spree'

Could it be the actual smoking making you feel grotty? If you don't usually smoke very much it might just be that

That is true - yesterday was the first time I've smoked in a while so I'm hoping you're right. It doesn't help that I went to London for 3 days last week and I'm on edge anyway, plus Ihave TMJ and my jaw has 'locked' - feeling pretty down in the dumps and not too bright

Oh and I think so! It was the first appointment I've ever had, but think I've found 'The One!' I'm unsure whether to go anywhere else - not sure if it will just confuse me more?! The dress I loved was beautiful and it made my mummy cry!! Bless!

That;'s the basis I'm going on too. It was stunning! I think it got her when they said it looked lovely and decided to put a veil and a tiara on me. I must say, silly as it sounds, I felt like a princess, heehee!!
