Hi all,
I've been on antiobiotics for a couple of weeks now for reoccuring UTI. I'm battling horrific nausea/heartburn/d*/constipation (sorry for graphics). My doc prescribed me some Omeprazole for the nausea/acid. I've just taken my first one now, as I'm feeling sick to my stomach. I have another week left of antibiotics, but I'm struggling to cope.
On top of that I had to do some food safety online course for my job and it went into graphic detail about FP - the causes, symptoms, etc so my mind is racing about v* even more and it's affecting me being able to eat certain foods.
I am really stressed about this. Up until the summer I had been doing so well with my phobia for years but because of this recent UTI/kidney problem (was hospitalized at one stage in June and v* was a symptom) I am being put on medication which is giving me this n* side effect, as well as n* being a symptom of UTI/kidney problems. I am seeing a specialist urologist next week who is keen to put me on low dose antibiotics for six months to stop me getting UTI's as it's beginning to damage my kidneys. It's good that they can treat it like that but I can't face more antibiotics that are going to make me feel this nauseous for six months. I will be sent over the edge.
Please can someone give some advice or reassurance? Thank you so much x

I really stressed to my doctor about the side effects but he said it's really common with the ones I'm on, and I he wants me to give the anti-sickness a go. And tonight as I said I took the first one and it's helped a lot. But when I see the urologist I am going to discuss with him wether the low dose antibiotics have a strong likelihood of making me nauseous. Do you think it is worthwhile explaining my phobia to him, and/or my doctor? I mean I know that it's important I look after my kidneys - that's what's getting me though the side effects (that and the fact that I know if I don't take the antibiotics and get another kidney infection, I will have v* as a symptom anyway) xx
