Thread: blood drawn!

    Default blood drawn!

The very first time I got blood drawn, I felt dizzy and like I was going to v****. I didn't, but it was very scary and traumatic. I panicked. Last week, I had to get blood drawn again, and was FREAKING OUT. The nurses held my hand and I layed down and talked about my new favorite show, Breaking Bad. I didn't feel dizzy or n*******. I thought it was because I ate before. Today, I didn't eat anything and had to get blood drawn again. I layed down, was very calm, and didn't feel n******* at all! I'm very proud of myself!

Hey, well done you! I also had my blood drawn on Friday last week and I had a HUGE phobia of needles. I don't anymore now. I felt really faint afterwards and nauseous but it only lasted a few minutes. The whole panicing beforehand was a LOT worse than the whole act itself. I'm so glad I had it done, and I'm happy that you had them done too!

Hi...great for both of you! I used to draw blood and yes, if you can eat something before, then that stops the dizziness. However, if you have to fast, by all means, lie down and tell the phlebotomist about your fears...they should be very sympathetic and can talk you through it. It really is a quick procedure for most, if the veins are good. Good for you all!!!
