Default Black, rat poop looking thing in my cereal

I was eating honey bunches of oats and a black, incredibly charred piece of something floated to the top. I took it out and ate the rest of the cereal.

It was shaped just like rat poop, but it was so charred it fell apart with even a little pressure applied to it.

Anyone have anything like this before? What was it/any reason to worry?

It's probably just a charred piece of cereal. Stuff like that happens all the time, especially if the cereal has been baked before it was packed. You'll be fine.

I was thinking the same thing - a burnt piece of cereal. I found a similar thing in a package of crackers. Took it out, ate the rest of the crackers - nothing happened.

It sounds like a burnt piece of cereal. I have eaten the cereal a lot and have had no problems.

If you are worried you can call consumer affairs for the cereal. They might send you a coupon.
