Hi Loulou, I'm fairly new to the site as well, and also only two weeks into CBT treatment for my phobia. At the moment I feel as though it would be really difficult to ever calm my anxiety, but I'm SO determined to give it a try that I'll put in the hard work - think of it as getting out what you put in. Imagine yourself months down the line and feeling anxiety-free... that's what I'm finding is getting me through at the moment.
As for getting people to understand, the more they know, the less they'll feel confused. After all, people fear the unknown. Point them in the direction of some good emetophobia reading materials and it'll go a long way to helping.
Good luck with the CBT![]()
