Default I've been gradually exposing myself to v* videos on youtube- think it's helping

    Hello,

I've had emet since I was 7 and I'm in my twenties now. It's had a huge effect on my life and contributed (alongside my OCD) to me having to take leave from university and now to being agoraphobic. For the past two weeks I've been gradually watching worse and worse videos of people v* on youtube- firstly only watching a few seconds with the sound off and now watching 'Best vomit compilations' with the sound on full volume.

Would anyone like to join me in this?

Also I've been typing out proj. v*, norovirus, p**e repeatedly for 5-10 minutes each day to desensitize!

I've been watching YouTube videos for a while not convinced its helping but has not made it worse, but desensitising v surly has to have some benefit, at the very least I know longer worry about images on tv triggering and any step forward is positive.
Does typing the words out help? Gonna try that one see how it goes as well, any other ideas out there that could desensitise. Spring is coming a good time to try and move forward.

    owen emetophillia really?

I have tried watching videos too but could not continue with it because I would get v dreams from it. Might try it again sometime. Glad it is helping you emet-ana.

Watching the vidoes has not given me philla. Philla is complex, but does not develop simply from seeing a video. What a crock. Go to emetophobiahelp.org for info on how to do it right. There is also videos, pics, words there.

I have managed to successfully desensitize myself to watching and hearing other people vomit by watching those vomit compilations on YouTube. So now I can watch without getting anxious at all. In fact, most of them strike me as really funny now. HOWEVER, my emetophobia is about ME vomiting and there is no amount of vomit videos I can possibly watch that will take away my fear of ME vomiting.
