    Default Panicking like mad (again)

So today I've eaten/drank a strange mix of things - had a big lunch (spicy pasta), then tonight had a gin and tonic, an Irish coffee then a bloody Thai curry with a coke. I know - really rich right. Now my stomach feels all acidic and bubbly and I'm feeling sick... Probably made worse by the fact I'm on medication which causes acid reflux and constipation. So I'm bloated too. What's stressing me is that I went to a hospital yesterday to see a friend (badly broken leg) so I'm stressing about Noro. Please help feel really sickly

Hey Flo firstly, I feel EXACTLY the same tonight and just like you, its completely self inflicted, haha! Ive been out for dinner with friends and over indulged, boooo!! I had terrible acid and then went and ate caramel apple crumble. I literally thought I was going to explode! It gradually got worse on the drive home and I thought IT could happen as it was that bad. I had some Gaviscon as soon as I got in and while its still there, its a lot better. I'm still bloated but it is only acid and over eating, just as it is for you! you've been as naughty as me tonight and its just our bodies telling us off

As far as your hospital trip is concerned, I'd say its unlikely you would have caught anything. Did you take all of the precautions?

I'd recommend you take an antacid and relax. Its only the mix of foods and drink

Your food is probably just laying heavy on u, and it sounds like your anxious as well, thats probably why your feeling sick, try drinking some milk that will help the acid

Lauren you are a godsend! I know. I feel so silly - two spicy heavy meals in one day, caffeine, alcohol and cream - and I'm already prone to acid reflux at the minute! I have taken a couple of Rennies and felt much better - though I still feel this liquid in my throat and chest and I still feel bloated. I also have PMS - so weirdly I still feel bloody hungry! Anyway, how are you feeling now? X

Thanks Butterfly - will try the milk! X

Don't feel silly, I was worrying on my drive home because I was in my mum's car, I thought if IT happened, she wasn't going to be impressed, haha!

If the reflux is REALLY bad, which is sounded like yours was, the rennies will only take the edge off, same as my Gaviscon. The liquid you can feel is most definitely acid. The bloating will more than likely be wind from the mix of foods, I was the same too. If you do feel hungry, try having a slice of toast, that should quell the relux a tad too

I'm absolutely fine today! It always goes after a good nights sleep. How are you doing today!? x

Car journeys are awful if you're having a 'scare'! Well any journey in a confined space... Well confined spaces in general... When I feel s* I need to be out in the open, able to move around... Being stuck somewhere when it happens frightens the life out of me even more. It's definitely about control. I once felt really s* on a train. On my own. I wasn't actually s* but it was horrific.

Thanks for the practical advice - I think if this whole Noro thing wasn't being hysterically brandished around in the press I would feel more logical when I got bloating/gas/heartburn or whatever... But because my Mum had Noro, and she said the way he started was not nausea, but feeling full and bloated, with acid (she actually took anti-acid) I end up thinking I've got Noro everytime I feel full or get a bit of reflux. Not good.

Anyway I am much better today too! Glad you are too. Still having thoughts of, oh gosh, when will be the next time I get into another state, and when it will come the time I actually do get s*. So draining. Day to day life can be stressful as it is without the burden of an irrational phobia!
