2 People at Work Sick

I thought sv season was over!! Then yesterday this girl I sit right next to (but didn't touch) was sick over the weekend and threw up in the bathroom a few times. I only found out AFTER. But then she left work at 4...I'm still confused as to WHY she came in to work...(stay home if you're sick!!!)

She isn't here today (thank God) but now another girl who was absent yesterday is back from being sick with the sv over the weekend.

When people get sick in offices, everyone does. I'm starting to get paranoid all over again. I was pretty calm in March and so far of April but now...I don't know.

Thoughts? Could I be next?? Damn this phobia and its controlling-ness

If it makes you feel better, I have worked outside of the home for almost 15 years and I can honestly tell you that there has NEVER been a virus that everyone catches. Some people do, but most people don't. You are going to be fine. It's almost the end of the season, you're almost there! I am SURE that your hands are washed, you're germ free and that you will avoid the gross. This time next week you'll feel so much better!

I know for a fact people use a stomach bug as an excuse to call out of work to get a day off. ... I worked in an office that one person called in each day of the week and they went down the cube row Monday-Friday. They told me after the fact that it was just a way to get a day off.

I too was feeling better about the stomach bug season but yesterday afternoon at my son's baseball practice a kid's nanny was saying he had been sick all Monday night but got up feeling better and went to school and was a practice.. I said REALLY and he's here... poor kiddo looked miserable. And so starts the countdown. Or course on the 48 hour mark we will all be together again for Thursday's baseball practice. ;-/

Last February only a few of us out of twenty some in my station at work managed to avoid catching the stomach bug. It really comes down to your hand hygiene and not tasting your fingers. But really, the way I see it, we can take action or worry but one way or another!

I read on Facebook somebody I know had gone down with an sv, there was me thinking the season was coming to a close. I think the best procedure is to just keep your hands clean and avoid touching your face or putting them in your mouth, unless you've just washed them that is. That way if anything like this occurs you can be sure that there is a much lesser chance of you catching anything.
