    Default New here/A little help, please

    Hello to anyone gracious enough to read this. I am new to this forum but not new to this phobia. I've suffered with it for as long as I can remember and some days I manage it well; others, not so much lol. I'm basically posting this to get a feel for how it works. What is appropriate to type out and what isn't? I know the obvious (v and d) but I would like to know the proper etiquette so as not to upset anyone because I would never forgive myself for that. Also, am I even posting this in the proper place? I don't have much experience with forums so I don't want to be that girl who is all clueless and such. Thanks for your time and I'm really hoping to connect with people who suffer from this like I do. I think we all could use as much support as possible

    Hi Snow
    Well I check this forum everyday so feel free to message me if you are needing support or just someone to talk to
    I have had emetophobia all my life, but it's gotten to its worst the past 4 years.
    I'm 18 and can't believe how much this has effected my life but I'm trying to get over it slowly but surely!
    As for how you write things on the forum, as long as if you write something graphic make sure you warn people who are easily effected before you write or on the thread name.
    Welcome!!

    There are no rules about typing trigging words, though it makes me feel stronger when I write "vomit" instead of v.

    Here are other two, if you need a guide:
    sv = stomach virus
    fp = food poisoning

    -15 years old girl who did upset everyone.
    Tick tock, time is passing and so is your life. Enjoy it while you can.

    I like that! That you feel stronger spelling them out entirely.
    It is sometimes defeating to shorthand the words/terms... it gives them too much power. But I understand people are sensitive to it at certain points with this phobia.
    "This is impossible."
    "Only if you believe it is."

    "I stood yesterday. I can stand today."

    Thanks everyone. I have no issue with the word but again, I am not trying to upset anyone. I know we all have enough we have to deal with as is. I like the fact that you spell it out. At 15 years old, I WISH I had that kind of strength to try to take control of it like you. Sometimes I wish I had that strength now and I'm twice your age haha but thanks again. Hope you're all having a good day. I'm decent here. For now at least
