    Default Does Coffee Go Bad?

I have an open bag of ground coffee in the fridge - it's been there for probably a month and a half. Is it safe to use? I searched, and everything says coffee goes bad after a week or two. Is this for quality purposes only? My question is, obviously, does it go bad as in can it make you sick? Does anyone here know for sure?

Sure, I could throw it out and buy new coffee to be sure but I'm really making an effort to stop wasting food and money out of needless fear, if you know what I mean.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

My husband drinks it long after that, especially if it had been in the fridge,he just says it gets bitter. Not a coffee drinker myself.

It's fine. It's flavor might not be as strong when you brew it. I don't think coffee actually has a true experation date.

I wouldn't drink it's product if there is mold on it or if you have alot of open products in your fridge (cross contamination or flavor contamination)

Now, I have heard and I have done this, but I don't remember if it worked, that storing your coffee in the freezer actually enhances the flavor. I can't actually drink coffee anymore, so others will have to weigh in on if this is true.
