Thread: Acid Reflux

    Default Acid Reflux

Does anyone else suffer with this? It's not so much fun when you have this stupid fear. I don't get actual heartburn from it, it's kinda weird. It happens randomly whether I've eaten or not. I'll start to feel sick, not nauseous, just like my stomach is full and not right. Which in turn gives me anxiety. It'll last a half hour or so, and then as soon as I can burp a few times I feel better. It's like my stomach is full of air for some reason. I used to be on pills for it but it sucked because I'm also on thyroid pills and I had to take them at certain intervals or they would interact with each other so I just stopped taking the ones for my reflux. Does anyone else have this problem? How do you deal with it?

I have bad reflux. I tried not to take the prescription meds but the reflux got so bad i had to go back to the gi dr. It started with a lump feeling in my stomach after i ate, then i would get the burning ar night, then it went to burning all day and i decide to go to the dr when the food felt like it was stuck in my throat and woukdnt go down. I felt like i was choking. Well im back on the meds and i feel so much better. The dr said if i didnt take them the acid would back up into my esophagus and cause scar tissue. He said that i def dont want that, so my advice to u is to take the meds the dr gives u. You will feel much better and adviod any complications the acid can cause

Yes, I have acid reflux. I use Pepcid Complete for it. It helps and works fast. I even get d from it, if it's bad. If I watch my diet I do okay. Unfortunately I love Italian food which is acidic and spicy. For some reason it is always the worst in the spring and fall when the weather changes. If you stay away from acidic and spicy foods you should be fine. If you are like me and can't stay away from those foods then just use an antacid. Oh, caffeine is bad too.

I have really bad reflux. I ve had all sorts of examinations from the drs and seen a gastric specialist also and I have no idea what causes it. I find that sipping water and sucking on glacier mints or general mints works. Ive heard that ginger is also good but havent tried it. Rennies anti acid tablets are really good but be careful because ive ended up taking them as and when i need them but end up taking the recommended dosage every day

I started suffering from this BAD, when I was 16. I never slept cause I was constantly afraid of *v. I researched like crazy and came across the apple cider vinegar remedy and tried it...it worked! I haven't used it recently but I think it might start because I heard that it makes the stomach more alkaline and it can ward off sv. I still have acid reflux really bad though. I'm pretty much addicted to ginger ale because it helps me burp. I feel your pain ):

I get it too. Uncomfortable pressure in my chest with nausea and sometimes a burning throat...and sometimes some acid splashes up. Really gross! Usually the nausea isn't too bad so I don't panic, but if the pressure and burning gets worse I take a prevacid.

I get an uncomfortable n* feeling in my stomach, have since I was in my early teens. Most of the time it's not bad enough to make me feel like I'm going to v* and I rarely get the burning up in my esphogas ( although my stomach will feel acidic). Ginger ale, mint tea, and gum help me.
