Default Best light foods to eat?

Doctor said I can start to eat solid food if I feel up to it. My intestine don't feel up to it, but not eating solids really makes the thought of food repulsive. I'm off the antibiotics finally so the intestine issue should resolve itself. It's really annoying being in the middle of sleep -- which I have issues falling -- and being forced awake because my intestine reject food.

Anything that I can trust not to cause any diarrhea or nausea?

BRAT diet all the way. Bananas, rice, apple sauce, (dry) toast. Those are very easy on the stomach and are binding, so no more diarrhea.

Plain white rice is the best for that, it really helps to settle the intestines. Avoid all dairy. Dry toast should be fine, try to go lightly with the butter, though.

Did they ever figure out what you had? BRATS diet is easy on your tummy and if you feel up to it smoothies are a good way to get nutrients

I'm not sure what the infection was, but I'm being prescribed a follow up antibiotic. I didn't know that was a thing and whatever medicine I was on really screwed my memory with the experience. Another antibiotic. Just great! I love having stomach discomfort for another THREE WEEKS. Why would I need an antibiotic for 3 more weeks?! Whatever. Opportunistic infections. Never caught the bug, this wouldn't be an issue. Love it.

3 weeks seems like a long time to be on an antibiotic! Seems like it could cause more harm. If your not already taking a probiotic make sure and get one so you don't get a yeast infection. Get the capsule kind then you can open them and put them in a liquid, if you think youll have a hard time swallowing them, that's what I did when I has strep.

What is osteomyllitus? Bone infection? They said it wasn't bad, and I'm kinda lucky that I was as sick as I was or I could potentially avoid the symptoms until things progressed. I don't like it though. I can't take Promethazine because the risks of Low Blood Pressure are kinda not what I want.

I looked it up and that sounds awful. Do you know what bone was infected? Sounds like long rounds of antibiotic are normal. Is the antibiotic hard on your stomach or your just afraid it will be? Try to get a probiotic so the antibiotic doesn't kill off all the good bacteria in your body. I hope you start feeling better soon, the whole thing sounds awful.

Well, thanks to a prior cheek abscess, I'm guessing there was an issue. It infection was in my jaw lining. The antibiotics really, really make me dizzy when i take them. These aren't even the antibiotics they wanted me on, but because I refused several treatment options, I'm stuck with these. I'd rather not take them honestly lol

The medication drops my blood pressure which makes me lightheaded and have furnaces for ears haha. The nausea is better controlled but I only have been prescribed 5 days worth of Ondansetron and I literally just took the final one.

Bone infections are very serious, and they do require to faithfully take antibiotics for several weeks as they are very difficult to treat (even at high doses, the antibiotics have trouble getting at the infection because it's inside the bone). So please take them on schedule and don't skip any doses and take all of them. If left untreated, it can lead to severe complications (including brain infection and death).

Maybe you can call the dr and ask for some more Ondansetron. Tell the dr the medication is making you dizzy to the point you don't want to take it, I can't imagine they wouldn't give it to you, especially since your having trouble eating

My dad has Crohn's Disease and whenever he has a flare up, he makes himself a bowl of rice cereal. It's kind of like oatmeal, but made with rice instead of oats. Works like a charm in a matter of hours for soothing his gut cramps and calming down the d*. If you can manage it that would be a great start and you can make it as thin or thick as you like based on the amount of cereal vs. water you use. Eat it warm/hot, goes down easier. And if you can get your hands on them, start taking a probiotic. It will help by regrowing the good bacteria in your gut that has been lost by the medicines and helping to sooth the irritation that remains, which is the cause of the d*. You can get them in tiny pearl forms that are super easy to swallow. Get a thirty day supply and take at least 2-3 a day. You'll see improvement!
